Animations for Kurt’s Lighter, a short film
"It’s important because it belonged to Kurt Cobain, not the banjo player from Mumford & Sons"

The 18-minute short, directed by Paul Kelly, was produced to promote the Berlin music festival Pop-Kultur.

The film details the “semi-spiritual experience” behind “Rebel” artist Scott King's most important piece of music history. Kurt's Lighter is a pastiche of the peculiar and often pretentious world of ‘collectable’ rock memorabilia.

As the star of the show, the lighter had to look great. The 3D model had to do justice to the original subject matter. Capturing every detail, from the scratches caused by Kurt's keys to the fluff from his pocket, each element was a labour of love.
